Madd Hippie - Vitamin C serum review

When I consciously chose to switch to natural skin care, I was a bit skeptical to know if naturally sourced ingredients could hold up to the chemically laced ones from department stores that I decided to stop using.

I had seen Mad Hippie's colorful packagings at my local health store often and I ended up picking up a couple items in May. I started using their Vitamin C serum to help with my uneven skin tone due to pregnancy Melasma (pregnancy mask - that never went away).

Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (vitamin C), a more stable form of Vitamin C than the commonly used L-Ascorbic Acid found in most skin care products, provides the same benefits, without the risk of oxidation and irritation that is often associated with L-Ascorbic Acid.

Vitamin E - Protective antioxidant that has been shown to reduce the appearance of wrinkles & discoloration. Ferulic Acid – A natural antioxidant found in the cell walls of plants. When combined with vitamins C & E, Ferulic Acid has been shown in studies to have a compounding antioxidant effect.

Hyaluronic Acid – A naturally occurring substance in the body, hyaluronic acid begins to deplete as we age. Applied topically it can help increase the plumped up look of the skin.

Konjac Root Powder – Exotic flower from Asia, helps to soften & smooth the skin while forming a thin protective barrier. Rich in nutrients such as copper, zinc, phosphorus, fatty acids, protein, carbohydrates, lipids, potassium, magnesium, iron, niacin, folic acid & vitamins A, E, C, D & B!

After using it daily for a month, I personally did not see noticeable changes in my discoloration, but I noticed a more glowing & smooth complexion.

Im guessing the discoloration Ive had for over 7 years wont just disappear that fast.

*Le sigh*

I like to go makeup free a few days a week and I do feel that I'm able to do it now since I have been using this serum. I'm also thankful that this didn't irritate my sensitive skin. I had no redness associated with the application, which I was a bit apprehensive about.

Overall, I will keep using it and post about the results in a few months.

I was lucky to be able to try a couple more of their products including the Vitamin A serum, the eye cream (loving this so far), face cream and facial cleanser.

If you have read my posts before on here and my Instagram, I'm pretty much married to my homemade oil cleanser, however I was intrigued to try theirs because of its promising ingredients.

I will feature an in depth review in the fall about overall use of this whole line.
